Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera is not worried that there is still enough time for Kylian Mbappe to sign a new contract with the club.
The France striker’s contract with PSG is due to expire next summer. Made him in the news with a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
So far there has been no sign of a new contract taking place, however, Herrera insists no-one in the squad pressured Mbappe to renew and pointed out that there was still time for the ink flick.
“There is still an opportunity to try to renew Mbappe’s contract. We have examples of players who have renewed their contracts in February, March or April. There is still time,” Herrera told Mundo Deportivo,
the PSG player previously gifted Mbappe a birthday present in a kit that reads “Mbappe 2050” in order to Tease about contract renewal
Asked about the matter, Herrera said: “He’s open, friendly and hilarious. He’s got a sense of humor in life, and that’s the joke we joke about that makes us even more harmonious. We don’t put pressure on each other about our future.”
“I’m not joking. We’re not talking about contracts with anyone in the dressing room.”
Herrera also said Mbappe had the desire to learn from Lionel Messi to become a player who even better
“Over the next several years, Kylian will become the best player in the world. But we all agree that Lionel is number one, without a doubt Mbappe is humble and desires to learn from Lionel,
” a player on the same level as Messi. It doesn’t take long to adjust. He will play the same whether in France, Spain, Japan or Madagascar.”
“He won his seventh Ballon d’Or and trained and enjoyed it as if he had started playing. None of the rehearsals were humorous.”
