Barcelona rejected the chance to sign Micky van de Ven for just €3m when the player broke through at Volendam.

Former Barcelona scout Bojan Krkic Sr. revealed on Ziege Rodriguez’s ‘El Bar’ show on Tuesday that the Blaugrana turned down the chance to sign Micky van de Ven before the Dutch centre-back moved to Tottenham Hotspur.
Bojan Sr., the father of Anderson Deco’s right-hand man, Bojan Krkic, previously work as a scout for Barcelona, having suggest the club sign Van de Ven’s early in his career after being impress by the player’s performance in a game between Volendam and Alkmaar.
‘They told me he had grown a lot so I went to watch him in the next game and in the same week they also did a physical test in training and it turned out that centre-back Van de Ven’s faster than Kylian Mbappe,’ Bojan Sr. said of the Dutch defender.
